Trip description

Canoeing through NJ pinelands. Eating lunch on one of the many breaks along the river. Stopping for a bite to eat on the way home (optional). River description: slow moving water, mostly ankle to chest deep water (occasional over head depths), average 8-18 feet wide, many twists & turns (easy prey to be tipped over). Meeting Time
& Place

  • We will meet in front of "Mick's Canoes" at 9:00am
  • See directions below.

What To Bring

  • Pack a lunch
  • Shorts, sun screen, old sneakers/sandals.
  • Change of clothes, towel.
  • Water proof camera.
  • Bevy of choice (no glass containers), small cooler,lunch (in multi ziplocks), snacks.
  • If you have your own canoe and want to bring it, they charge a $14 transportation fee.

Expenses

  • Canoes rentals are $55 ($28 per person).
  • $20 for transportation if ya bring yer own canoe.
  • Money to stop for dinner afterwards (optional).

Approximate Duration

  • 9:00 - 4:00pm (not including travel time and optional stop for dinner)

-Parkway South, Exit 52 "New Gretna".
-Left at end of exit ramp towards Rt. 9.
-Right onto Rt. 9 south.
-First light make right onto Route 679 (679 unnoticeably turns into 563).
-10 miles on left is Mickie's Canoe.
